Launched in 2012,\nit operates a proprietary end-to-end mPOS payments platform. The company is\nregistered as a payment facilitator in the U.S. and Latin America. According to\n<a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2019\/02\/12\/sumup-acquires-multi-channel-e-commerce-platform-shoplo\/\">TechCrunch<\/a>,\nit has annual revenue of more than $200 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shoplo serves more than 3,000 online stores across Europe,\nit said. The company enables its customers to build online stores and connect\nto online marketplaces such as Etsy and Showroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Executives highlighted the expanded capabilities the acquisition\nwould allow the combined company to offer its small merchant clients. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFrom the shop-floor to the online checkout \u2013 SumUp is\nlooking to be the first point-of-call to merchants globally. Every decision we\nmake to expand our product suite is made with the consideration and feedback\nfrom our 1 million users worldwide,\u201d Marc-Alexander Christ, co-founder of SumUp\nsaid in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shoplo.com\/blog\/we-are-now-part-of-sumup-family\/\">blog\npost<\/a>. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFrom the boutique clothing stores, to florists and\nmicrobrewers, our platform is constantly looking to the technology solution\nwhich helps their business flourish. By leveraging Shoplo\u2019s technology, SumUp\u2019s\nmerchants will get easy access to creating their very own online stores and\nselling on numerous eCommerce platforms in just a few clicks,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur mission to simplify eCommerce is in accordance with\nSumUp\u2019s mission to empower small merchants globally and the acquisition will\nallow for scalability as well as faster go-to-market time that would not have\nbeen possible otherwise.
