The company was recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/jeffkauflin\/2019\/02\/04\/top-payment-fintech-companies\/?ss=fintech\">named<\/a>\nas one of the Forbes Fintech 50, an annual listing of the top innovators\nchanging the way we relate to our money. According to that article, Poynt is on\ntrack to process $20 billion in transactions over the next year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a deep passion for improving lives through technology, Bedier\nhas spent the last two decades pioneering consumer internet, e-commerce and\npayments services. Prior to founding Poynt, he served as the vice president of payments\nat Google, where he created the Google Wallet. Before that, he ran product and\nengineering at PayPal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a press\nrelease announcing a round of funding for Poynt last year, Bedier said, \u201cSmartphones\nchanged the way we search, buy and communicate &#8212; not only because the hardware\nwas beautiful, but because iOS and Android transformed a ubiquitous utility\ninto a platform for innovation where developers could build once and distribute\neverywhere.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur vision is to transform retail by becoming that\ninnovation platform for payment terminals everywhere. We give developers a\ntechnical canvas to build the experiences merchants and their customers have come\nto expect \u2013 and ultimately, make visiting your local store the personal\nexperience it was always meant to be,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PF WORLD is the first-ever standalone event focused\nexclusively on the payment facilitator business. The first day of the two-day\n2019 event will feature speakers and panel presentations about the PF market\nand the economics of becoming a payment facilitator.
