The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), a global\ntrade association for the payments technology industry, has named a new CEO.\nJodie L. Kelley will assume the role in September.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelley is currently senior vice president and general\ncounsel for BSA, a trade organization for the software industry, where she manages\nprograms, oversees the group\u2019s revenue-generating activities and acts as a\nspokesperson for both BSA and the industry it represents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before joining BSA, Kelley served as vice president and\ndeputy general counsel for Fannie Mae and a partner at Jenner & Block in\nWashington, D.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs the payments technology industry grows in both size and\nimportance, ETA must grow along with it. With the help of the board, I look\nforward to evolving the association at this pivotal time. I am committed to\nfurther expanding ETA’s already significant advocacy efforts, increasing our\nmember-education programs and providing more networking opportunities,\u201d Kelley\nsaid in the announcement<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The payments technology industry is dynamic and\nexpanding, and ETA has a vital role to play during this period of growth and\ninnovation. Jodie is the right person to guide ETA to significant growth that\nprovides enhanced value and a unified voice for our industry,” Kevin Jones,\npresident and chairman of ETA and CEO of Celero Commerce, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amy Zirkle, who has served the organization as interim\nCEO<\/a> since February, will remain with the organization, ETA said. She has\nbeen a visible presence in the industry on behalf of ETA, representing the\nassociation on the PCI Security Standards Council Board of Advisors as well as\nother industry forms and organizations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDuring her tenure as interim CEO, Amy has made an outsized\nimpact as an industry leader and we\u2019ve enjoyed every minute we\u2019ve worked with\nher,\u201d Todd Ablowitz, ETA member and CEO of Infinicept, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ETA\u2019s search for a new CEO began in January when Jason Oxman\nleft the\npost<\/a>, which he had held for seven years, to take over a new role as president\nand CEO of the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ETA has been active in advancing the interests of payment\nfacilitators within the payments industry. In 2016, it published\nits Payment Facilitator Guidelines, which offer guidance and best practices for\nnew entrants into the PF market. Consultants Rich Consulting and Double Diamond\nGroup oversaw the ETA working groups\u2019 creation of those guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2017, ETA introduced a new Payment\nFacilitator Committee to address challenges and issues having to do with\ncompliance, business and technology in the PF space. And in 2018, it launched\na Self-Regulation Program to acknowledge industry players, including PFs, who\nare developing and following appropriate risk management policies. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
