It also offers financial\nservices through a nationwide agent network of local retailers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a blog post, Paga describes the <a href=\"https:\/\/usa.visa.com\/\">Visa<\/a> partnership as \u201cone step further in our\nglobal expansion plans.\u201d For Visa, it said, the goal is continuing to develop\nalternative payment channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The partnership allows Paga accountholders to tie Visa\ncredentials to their Paga accounts, enabling them to use their Paga accounts\nwherever Visa is accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The companies also plan to work together on merchant\nacceptance solutions using Visa\u2019s network, including QR code and NFC solutions,\nonline payments and international remittances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, merchants that accept payments through\nPaga will also be able to accept non-card based payments from any consumer\nwhose bank is part of the Visa network. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to partner with Visa, a leader in payments\nglobally, as they are constantly building world-class solutions for consumers\nand businesses. Our goals are well aligned. As we scale our wallet across\nemerging markets such as Nigeria, Mexico, and Ethiopia, partnering with Visa to\ngive both consumers and businesses, who have been underserved, access to Visa\u2019s\nglobal network made sense to us,\u201d Tayo Oviosu, founder and group CEO of Paga,\nsaid in the blog post. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFurthermore, it was clear to us in all our engagements the\nalignment of our goals towards solving the issues of cash, digitizing cash\ntransactions and delivering financial services using new and innovative\napproaches.
